DVD-R Compatibility

DVD-R is a recordable DVD format that is 100% DVD compliant as specified by the DVD Consortium (a group comprised of the ten companies who originated the DVD format). 95% of the DVD players on the market today will play DVD-R and Video-CDs (VCDs), such as our Cyberman Special. These players are generally produced by the major manufacturers.

The other 5% of manufacturers, in a rush to get products to market, build their machines to work on most discs, realizing that some features of DVD may not work. Many of these machines have problems playing certain Hollywood titles as well as DVD-R discs.

Professionally replicated DVD's (like offical Hollywood titles) are generally 100% compatible, but most manufacturers have a production run minimum and are therefore prohibitively expensive for a small production company like Trickshot.

Unfortunately, due to the nature of our products and the advent of piracy, we cannot offer refunds if your player is not compatible. Please check compatibility before you purchase or use an alternative DVD player.

You can also use the following software to play our discs on a PC with a DVD drive:
- Windows Media Player 10x (Grave Matter DVD and Cyberman Special VCD only)
- InterVideo WinDVD 5.0x
- Power DVD 4.0x
